Fists and Starts is a work inspired by Stan Douglas' photograph Shoes 1941. Emotion, at times, unknowingly contorts our perception and our body. This piece will not be a fetishization or pain, nor will it be a woman's dramatic display of emotion, it will merely be an investigation on the manipulation of emotions both of the audience and the performer. An experiment, on making feeling.
